Back to school for all!

The first day of school! Can you believe it? My 1st grader keeps saying "I can't believe I am in first grade" - over and over again. And my daughter started pre-school today as well. It was a very big day in our house. I think first grade is really the first true independent memories that I have. I remember we put on a play where I was The Candy Man. My grandmother sewed candy all over my clothes. I was very popular that day. I remember being swarmed by the kids as soon as the play was over.

I am really hoping for a great year. Day one is down and so far so good. No Take A Breaks. And that is a success.

My daughter on the other hand started pre school and did have a great day but also had some issues with group time. I was told she was strong willed. My response- YUP! That is why she is there. Hopefully in a few weeks she will adjust and learn the rules. But other than that she had a good day.

Leading up to this week I spent a lot of time with H. I like to have the summer go out with a bang. So I took last Wednesday - Friday off and was at the mercy of the whims of my 6 year old. We played a lot of Mimi golf. And I mean A LOT! Every day in fact. We also went on rides and got new shoes and ate where he wanted to eat. I even threw him a play date party. (which I will post about tomorrow).

Tonight was also soccer. This is just the start of the season of activities. Soccer, swim and Sunday school. But I love it. Even though I may complain dome times. It was so cold out tonight. I was absolutely NOT prepared. I had no coat and was wearing flip flops. So not flip flop weather. I even kind of gawffed at one mom wearing UGGS. By the end I was totally jealous of these UGGs. The blue team played awesome and I am very impressed with this league.

My evenings will now include showering before bed instead of the morning and getting lunch ready for C - all to make the mornings go smoothly. Goodbye to my summer hours of sleeping in and bellow to only one hit of the
snooze button.

Busy, busy, busy!
Mine's way too young for school -- last year, I wanted to sign her up, but she was still too young for the 2's program!

Hope the first back-to-school week goes well!

Wow, you are a very busy mom! I wish the shower at night trick worked for me -- but I always need a shower to wake me up! Plus my hair looks awful if I don't do it fresh each day... :)
